Google has always been a company that mined user data in order to make money. 15 years ago, most were fine with this. We had a basic agreement that they do a little snooping to sell ads, and we get really amazing, free software.

The trust users have in this arrangement has gone WAY off the rails as Google keep pushing the envelope, slowly turning the water temperature hoping that the frog won't notice.
