National Lead Coordinator for Freedom Convoy Speaks at Iowa State Capitol

March 26, 2022 Iowans gathered in front of the Des Moines, Iowa Capitol to fight for their freedoms and oppose mandates. A food truck was present and Sweet to Eat Bakery sold various snacks such as pie and cookies. Several speakers gave speeches on the matter from Jim Carlin, Gary Lefler, Rick Stewart, Gina Spampinato, Kari Hartpence, to Trent Thevenot. After the event, a group of them drove around Des Moines in a convoy.

Trent Thevenot, a retired trucker, lead coordinator for the Midwest Freedom Convoy, and now a national lead coordinator for the Freedom Convoy spoke about the overwhelming support for the movement. Trent reflects on the overwhelming amount of people on overpasses present during the Midwest Freedom Convoy. Trent states "For everyone of those people there, there are thousands more that wish they could've been there." Trent mentions that he is now working with the group Overpasses for America. Trent mentions "If you search for Over Passes for America, you're not going to find much on Facebook, because they are one of many that has been banned from Facebook." Trent hints that there are rumors of a motorcycle convoy in DC.
