The Little Book (Revelation 10)

Of all things unusual, John is presented with the angel’s little book to eat. With the book is something tangible, something real and material, and once partaken it becomes a part of John. Hitherto this moment, John has been many things, but his work is yet complete, for he still has many prophetic words to spread throughout the church. Indeed, we today are listening to his words, which were not his own, but rather words which came from on high. Once he has eaten the book, he cannot go back; all its bitterness, all its honey, he must receive in full.
