Johnny Bakshi films is a FEATURE FILM PRODUCING COMPANY that was conceived in the 1974 with the grounds breaking Feature Film called ‘MANZILEIN AUR BHI HAIN’, This was the Celebrated film Director MAHESH BHATT’S first film as Director. His big break.

The film starred INTERNATIONAL FILM STAR KABIR BEDI (His first film in the Lead). It also starred Prema. Narayan and Gulshan Arora.

This film created history as its theme was very bold and a huge censor battle ensued, the then PRIME MINISTER Mrs. INDIRA GANDHI intervened and helped get the film released all over.

The second film was ‘VISHWASGHAT’, Starring SANJEEV KUMAR (National award winner) in a double role, SHABANA AZMI (National award winner), KABIR BEDI etc.

The third film was ‘LAHU KE DO RANG’ Starring VINOD KHANNA, SHABANA AZMI AND DANNY etc.

This followed the DACOIT DRAMA “MERA DOST MERA DUSHMAN’ Starring SHARTUGAN SINHA, DANNY and SMITA PATIL.

‘PHIR TERI KAHANI YAAD AYEE’ Was MAHESH BHATTS last film Starring RAHUL ROY, POOJA BHATT ad POOJA BEDI etc. This film was a rage of the Nation as the music was the biggest HIT and on the night of the Nation-wide release the streets of India wore a deserted look.

This was followed by ‘RAAVAN’ Written, Produced and Directed by Mr. JOHNNY BAKSHI himself. Starring OM PURI, SMITA PATIL, GULSHAN ARORA AND Vikram. This film won countless national and International awards.

RAJESH KHANNA, the biggest SUPER STAR EVER of INDIAN CINEMA chose this film as his last. He won many accolades and awards for this. This Film starred RAJESH KHANNA, MADHAVI (Super Star of South India films), DEEPIKA and BRANDO BAKSHI.

Then followed ‘PAPA KEHTEIN HAIN’, A musical BLOCK BUSTER. Starring JUGAL HANSRAJ, MAYURI KANGO, ANUPAM KHER (International star) of Oscar Award winning films such as SILVER LINING PLAY BOOK etc.

Then ‘SARDARI BEGUM’ Directed by INERNATIONAL AND NATIONAL AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR SHYAM BENEGAL.

‘GUDIA’ Directed by GAUTAM GHOSH (National and International award winning Film maker)was the only India Feature film to be selected at the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL.

Next came the grounds breaking dark Feature film “IS RAAT KI SUBHA NAHI” Directed by SUDHIR MISHRA. National and International award winner.

‘SAAZ’ Directed by India’s best Female director SAI PARANJPEE was a much loved film on the lives of the greatest singer sister of India LATA MANGESHKAR AND ASHA BHONSLE. It won many awards and accolades.

This was followed by ‘BHAIRAVI’ Directed by ARUNA RAJE. This was her most successful film.

‘KAJRAREE’ was DIRECTED by POOJA BHATT, Starring HIMESH RASHAMYA and MONALISA. This was Co-Produced by T SERIES India’s biggest Film Making House.
