Harts Cove hike at Cascade Head - August 2021 Coast Trip

This was a good, fairly well maintained 3+ mile long trail. It starts out with .7 miles of downhill switch-backs (interestingly, the hike also ends with .7 miles of UPHILL switch-backs)

At the end of the trail it opens up onto a large sloped grassy meadow kind of area. Along the way and at the end we could hear the sea lions very well. If you have a telephoto lens or binoculars you should be able to see dozens or hundreds of them on the shore south of the cape in the next cove over to the south.

It was a scenic and no crowds. In fact, we only saw a half dozen or so people during the 4 hours we were there. Once again our GPS devices matched each other, but did not match the length listed on the signs. It was about 1/2 mile each way longer than the sign said. Maybe it was all the walking around the meadow area?

Freeze dried food will stay fresh for many years and be ready and waiting when you need it.
