Sometimes a day comes around that a person does not expect. Sudden information akin to a sledgehammer behind the knees. Or a two by four across the side of the head, and down that person goes. Today that is exactly what we spoke about. Brook shared some devastating news that took her completely by surprise. Don't worry it was not medical.

When she received it, she found herself in shock. The complete opposite happened to her in terms of what we think we would do if were to be met with very bad news. The kind that plunges you down into darkness and fear. We think that if something like that happens to us, we imagine ourselves girding on the armor of the valiant and running down into the battlefield and "war a good war." This is not the case.

This kind of bad news knocks the spiritual wind, physical strength and power out of a person. This episode in my opinion happens to be one of the most poignant and important ones of all I have ever done. You will see why when you watch it. Brook allows herself to be be open and honest in word and emotionally.

The discussion around it should give all of us something to think about in terms of being there for one another in family love. And what it really means to be a Christian and to be fully human at the same time. Brook is a beautiful saint of the Lord, and through her many tears still managed to shine like the sun in the Kingdom of our Father.

"No stars gleam as brightly as those which glisten in the polar sky. No water tastes so sweet as that which springs amid the desert sand. And no faith is so precious as that which lives and triumphs through adversity. Tested faith brings experience. You would never have believed your own weakness had you not needed to pass through trials. And you would never have known God’s strength had His strength not been needed to carry you through." ~Charles Spurgeon
