Boot washing machine to prevent Kauri Dieback.

Kauri dieback is a kind of water mould that travels in dirt on people boots and shoes. It does not travel very far from where people take it, but it kills trees that people walk near to, in the order of 50 metres. It was discovered in the early 1970s, but was detected in forests visited by tourists in 2006. Some reserves are closed now to prevent the mould spreading and killing trees. Some reserves and parks have different kinds of washing stations to prevent the accidental transport of the disease.
