A stunning lantern display will be on show in Coulls Inlet, Mallacoota, from this Friday, 24th September, in conjunction with the Mallacoota Art Space exhibition "Patterns in Nature and Upcycled Art."
The lanterns have been created by members of the Mallacoota community during a series of workshops led by Melinda Beacham and Tracey Johnson. The lanterns were originally planned to coincide with the Wild Harvest Seafood Festival, which sadly was cancelled this year due to COVID restrictions, so the lantern display is now being shown as part of the Mallacoota Art Space's exhibition, opening this Friday.
Don't miss an exquisite lantern in the shape of an abalone shell by Melinda Beacham in the laneway beside Mallacoota Art Space and Lucy's Restaurant. And the exhibition itself in the gallery will feature many works by the creative Mallacoota community of artists. The exhibition opens this Friday at 5pm, lanterns on display for two weeks and the exhibition until mid November.
The lantern project is funded by the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.
