First court appearance for retired Lethbridge police inspector adjourned

A retired Lethbridge police inspector facing charges of sexual assault, has first court appearance adjourned until April 25th.
Bill Kaye, had also been employed at the Domestic Violence Action Centre and served on the board of directors at the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre. In January 2021, Coaldale RCMP received a report of a historical sexual assault of a young woman who was Kaye’s client, and a victim of domestic abuse.
On March 10 Kaye turned himself in to police and was arrested. Following a judicial hearing, he was released on conditions to appear in Court on March 28th. The matter was adjourned until April 25th with the Crown elected for indictment.
