Now, your first inclination would have been otherwise—I know—but there really is the risk of worse public pain if things go wrong than the lesser private pain, had you told your friends to stay home.

Let me tell you—lawn darts are more fun than divorce parties. In fact, they are immensely more fun than divorce parties. Bring back lawn darts. THAT is a backyard pastime I want reintroduced within polite society.
