Today we are going to learn 'the pronunciation for the letter 'K' and 'Q' in Spanish' and for that purpose we are going to use a little bit of IPA.
The letter Q is pronounced as /k/.
The letter Q always is followed by U and the letters 'E' (/e/) or 'I' (/i/).
The letter U after a Q is silent: //
Some examples are: queso, querer, quien, quizás
The letter K is also pronounced as /k/.
The letter K is infrequent and it is found in foreign words.
Some examples are: karma, kenia, kiosko, koala
