BREAKING DOWN: Breaking The Tabo -- Filipino American History Round 2 | EP 150

It's October! Which means it's Filipino American History Month and One Down is back with Season 2 of their Breaking the Tabo series. Starting off this month is a basic Filipino American History lesson. Pretty cool stuff. Though, pretty much everything mentioned I already heard in my own Asian American course at CSUN. My two take aways were... 1) One of the gripes in the video is that this stuff isn't taught in High School text books. Sure. And I'd argue it's ALSO on the individual to learn about his/hers culture and history. Heck, I taught myself how to write Baybayin script. 2) I cannot believe their making "Igorot American" a thing. Probably need to make a video just on that. Overall, we can agree that Filipino American History IS American History.
