Build your poses from the ground up. If your feet/legs are strong and sturdy, then holding the rest of your body will be easier. Having different modifications in your 'toolbox' will help you with your movement. Choosing the correct modifications requires listening to your body on any given day. The 'hardest' expression is not always the best choice.
Listen to your body and do what you can.
