China is a big country with a lot of buildings, and apparently a lot of ugly buildings at that. There is a competition running in China to name the ugliest buildings for 2021, and this competition has been going on for over a decade. Chinese officials have taken notice though, and are trying to regulate ugly buildings out of existence. Apparently they don't want China to be known as the land of ugly buildings.
