Boss fight can be a pain if you dont kill the first guy really fast. I initiated attack as much as possible and traded hits if needed.

The real key was to fight by the mound, which helps create and closes the distance against the boss at the same time. It creates distance bc the mound acts like a shield in that you can roll dodge to the other side and offers some protection. It closes the distance/gap because the terrain is vertical and you are roll dodging away above his attack or below. This allows you to easily counter with a jump attack.

The other advantage is that it keeps the boss from flying all over the place and he ends up right up against the wall or close to it. Overall, this strategy helps alot with your defense and offense.
