Ms. Wagner will talk about nature based solutions to solve the climate crisis. There is a need for seed collection of regional species to happen at a large scale in order for forestry projects to do landscape scale reforestation. There are many large tree planting organizations that are not planting their native species and this results in increasing threats such as fire and stand losses from insect predation, as well as habitat loss for animals. Native forest restoration is the best way to sequester carbon and protect biodiversity. We will talk about the integral role seed banks play in this work.
