Poem to the Thin Blue Line

My Colleagues in Blue - when will you stand?

When you joined your recruit class and you were asked "why"
Why join a job for which you would die?
What did you say and write on that wall?
For Family, Community or to make crime fall?

Your badge says "Integrity, Courage, Community"
You worked through a pandemic with your natural immunity.
They mandated a jab and removed your choice,
So stand up with courage and speak with your voice.

My colleagues in Blue, when will you stand?
Please do it now before we lose this great land.
My colleagues in Blue, you know this is wrong,
So be that integrity, stand tall and stand strong.

My colleagues in Blue, please speak out today,
Or your family, your health and your children will pay,
Will you only stand up when it's far too late?
And your inaction has settled Humanity's fate?

If you joined this job, for which you would die,
How can you sit idle and watch this great lie?
Put on your uniform, stand tall and stand right,
And gather the evidence to make this a fair fight.

My colleagues in Blue, this is the final "rally call"
If you don’t stand now, the curtain will fall
Let today be the day, you stand and don’t hide,
Let today be the day you stand with great pride.

When I was an Officer we joked "we bleed blue"
You know in your hearts that this is you too.
So stand up with courage and stop this great crime,
Stand up today! NOW IS THE TIME!
