Berkey water filters are nice and convenient, but they have serious shortcomings for preppers. In SHTF situations you need to purify lots and lots of water dependably and quickly. Berkeys are slow, non portable, and can only do limited amounts of water before filter changes are necessary…and they’re expensive.
