Homesteading to the Glory of God | Sola Deo Gloria

We decided to homestead for many of the same reasons others do: A desire to be self-reliant, to give more time to spiritual pursuits, and to work with our kids on developing hands-on craft and life skills. A possible negative effect, however, to moving out to the country is isolating ourselves from the very world we believe as Christians we are called to reach. Therefore, a biblical view of homesteading must include an objective to bring glory to God in all the homesteader does by doing it in such a way that displays the goodness and grace of God to a world that needs him. This is the main reason we have started this YouTube channel and Podcast.

A COMMON TRADITION IN CHURCH HISTORY
Many God-fearing men and women throughout history have chosen lives of solitude and self-reliance for the sake of honoring the Lord. The hermits and monks of the early church and Middle Ages are a good example of such individuals.

A SHARED OBJECTIVE IN CHRISTIAN HOMESTEADING
Looking back on our reasons for leaving the city and breaking ground in the country, we share a similar desire to escape the world's corrupting influence and to focus on more holy and wholesome lifestyle.

BALANCING A QUIET LIFE WITH THE GREAT COMMISSION
While God calls believers to live quiet, self-reliant lives, he also calls us to be actively engaged in reaching the lost.
