Brazilian Air Force's Gripen features Israeli-made E-LynX data link

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) F-39 #Gripen fighter jet is equipped with E-LynXTM Airborne Software Defined Radio, an Ad Hoc network communication system (MANET) based on data links, for both air-to-air and air-to-ground communications.

The test was carried out after the Israeli-made E-LynX system was integrated into the Northrop F-5 FAB fighter first.

During the test, the F-5 and ground teams jointly intercepted the target.

The F-5 is fed information from ground-based radar and rapidly shuts down communication circuits via a sensor-to-shooter loop as part of a multidimensional arena.

The test proved to be able to improve the capabilities of the F-5 and therefore was later integrated into the latest Saab Gripen E fighter jet as originally intended.

This program was developed entirely by local company AEL Sistemas which is a subsidiary of Israel's Elbit Systems.

E-LynX technology uses IP-based voice routing, combined with two-way data transfer carried out over extended coverage.

All these simultaneous processes can be carried out in both the broadband and narrowband spectrum.
