A very good model for the studying of scripture can be found in the Road to Emmaus story in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:25-32). This narrative showcases how the understanding of the meaning of the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is more fully found through the study of the Word of God as expressed from the beginning and through time in the written scriptures of Israel. It is through an understanding of these scriptures that one comes to a fuller understanding of the fullness and wonder of the salvation given through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
