The vast majority of young people do not believe in absolute truth, that Christ is divine, nor that the Bible is the Living Word. No wonder 75% say they have no sense of purpose and over half struggle with depression. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries, explains that after young adults graduate from the Summit 2-week summer program, 86% have a biblical worldview compared to the 4% national average. They also become equipped to stand up for and defend truth — with a capital “T” — in college and beyond. When Dr. Dobson’s son, Ryan, attended as a teen in 1987, it changed his life.

About Today's Guests: Dr. Jeff Myers and Ryan Dobson
Dr. Jeff Myers is president of Summit Ministries. As an educator and entrepreneur, Jeff is a well-regarded authority on youth leadership development and training. Through his public speaking engagements and media appearances, he provides a relevant perspective on culture from a Christian worldview. Jeff is the author of 14 books, including the textbooks "Understanding the Faith," "Understanding the Times," and "Understanding the Culture," which are studied by tens of thousands of students each year. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Denver. He also serves as a trustee of Colorado Christian University. Dr. Myers has spearheaded the efforts at Summit Ministries to provide leadership courses that are offered by the Lumerit Corporation, which serves the training needs of many Fortune 100 companies. Jeff, his wife, Stephanie, and their family make their home in Colorado.

Ryan Dobson is a public speaker, author, and podcaster. He has combined his natural abilities for public speaking to engage and challenge parents and families in every stage of their lives. He is the product of successful parenting, having lived a public life as the son of America’s foremost authority on child rearing, author and radio host, Dr. James Dobson. Ryan launched his own radio broadcast as a young adult with the purpose of building passion and identity in people of faith. He then helped his dad found the radio ministry, Family Talk in 2010. In 2016, Ryan left Family Talk to begin Rebel Parenting, a digital ministry which he runs with his wife, Laura. They live in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and have one son and one daughter.
