Get Dis Money is a game by Aaron Turner. Why would you buy a game made by this person? Why did I write the first sentence in third person? These are all questions I have answers to. First of all, we all know there is like four thingys to a game: code, art, music, and marketing.

I've been coding for about 9 years in total, and 3 years as a professional frontend web developer. Why would you buy a game by a web developer? Because the only other web developers are spiders, and spiders is scary stuff.
I'm not going to lie, I'm not good at art, but you know who is? Leah Garza. And she told me my art was bad, and definitely cleaned it up, so the art is real *tchk, tchk*!
People say my music is dope. My roommate actuallty asks me to play it sometimes, and that dude has good taste in music. I usually make hip-hop beats under the alias Aviscerall, and I've been featured on Kotaku for an earthbound inspired beat tape I made. So you know my mixtape is going to be fire! Oh wait, um, I mean the game soundtrack.
Lastly, marketing is something I'm getting better at, but you are reading this right now, so I must be doing my job right.

The game was built in this cool new thing called a "Fantasy Console". In particular, I built in PICO-8. This means this game got them retro vibes, and I had to write some crazy code to fit in that 32k code size limit. And to my knowledge, this is going to be the first PICO-8 game on the market, so that's preety cool!
This game is fun. I spend a lot of time watching videos on game design, and how to really get the most of out of game mechanics. I spent a lot of time playtesting, and trying to ensure the game feels great. From the screenshake to make you feel like things are getting intense, the gentle to sould crushing difficulty surve (because it's a rouglike after all), and to the speedy enemies on close quarters maps. Here's a gif of a level on World one, and a gif of the first boss, to get a feel of how things go down in the game.

Get Dis Money has some cool features. The game supports two player co-op (on desktop devices), has a cool shop where you can buy new characters, and a cool stats screen for your high scores! That way you can prove to your friends that you're an up and coming speed runner, or that you really got good at getting dis money.
