Für die Wiedergabe der hohen, anspruchsvollen Trompetenpartien werden heute die so genannten Bachtrompeten eingesetzt. Dieser Name ist allerdings irreführend, da er allgemein für hoch gestimmte Trompeten verwendet wird, also keine Bezeichnung für ein Instrument aus der Zeit Bachs ist.
