Deer Hunting in Nebraska, 2019

My pre-season scouting and planning paid off in 2019. During November I was blessed with very mild weather and fortunate to have the opportunity to harvest not one but TWO healthy young whitetail deer for our freezer. I used the Marlin XL7 30-06 Springfield bolt-action rifle with the Boyd's blaze laminated prairie hunter stock and the matte black Redfield Revolution 3-9x40mm scope (My go-to deer hunting setup). Both deer were taken with Winchester 150 grain ammunition in Nemaha county, Nebraska during the firearm season. In December I again ventured out to the woods and completed my first successful muzzleloader hunt on December 31st. Using the .50 caliber Connecticut Valley Arms Optima Elite muzzleloader I added a third healthy whitetail to the freezer. These three animals provided a great deal of healthy food for me and for my family.
