Do We Have a Low Opinion of Ourselves?

Just me reading something I wrote a few months ago on the idea of alien manipulation of our society, leading us astray.

Not all other-worldly beings, or time-traveling beings, are good. Many of them have a strong distaste for us, and/or a low opinion of us.
