How Can I Take Care of Myself While Caring for Others? | The Importance of Self-Care as a Christian

What does it mean to be a servant in the Bible? How am I supposed to serve others as a Christian?

I am joined with Jack from ChristianConvos for another Mental Health Monday where we tackle psychology from a Christian perspective! I have heard many say, “I am always there for others, but no one is ever there for me.” It seems so easy to fall into this mindset of “how I can’t keep giving”. Today we talk about how to balance taking care of yourself with others, supporting people with mental illness and how to care for others as a Christian. Dealing with exhaustion as a caregiver can leave one struggling with compassion fatigue and caregiver burnout. We talk about how to support someone with mental health issues and someone who is disabled. We also take a look at how to treat people with respect when you have mental illness. (Other questions answered: Why do I care for others and not myself? How should a Christian respond to someone with mental illness?)

Verse Referenced in the Video:

Philippians 2:4 - Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (King James Version Bible, KJV)
