How social media's "unrealistic" expectations impact men's body image

Scrolling through social media can sometimes set off Abdullah Barez’s anxiety. With every photo comes pressure to be better, eat cleaner and hit the gym harder.
“It kind of gives you this unrealistic – I guess ideal – of what a man should be, muscle-wise, and strength-wise."
Though not officially diagnosed, Barez described his insecurities as body dysmorphia – a mental health condition resulting in an obsessive, negative perception of one’s body.
Research shows in men body issues can be linked to anxiety, depression and even suicidal thoughts or behaviour.
