Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's a cool sound comparison between Trumpet, Bb and Eb Cornet and Flugelhorn on this awesome arrangement of André Campra "Rigaudon" (from "Idoménée") made and recorded for you by Maestro Drew Fennell. This particular arrangement is for trumpet or cornet ensemble (and may be played antiphonally). The configuration of trumpets in Choir I and cornets in Choir II is but a suggestion. Additionally, the bottom part of each choir (part 4 and part 8) may be played by horn.
This arrangement is designed to be used, if wanted, with either of two other arrangements—one for mixed brass (combinations of high and low brass), and one for low brass which is limited to combinations of horn, trombone, euphonium, baritone, and tuba. It may also be played with the supplied organ part, where the brass plays just Choir I and organ plays a consolidated version of Choir II.
