Mercenary, Encounter & 180 | C64 Retro Gaming | Brothers In Arms Ep 6

Brothers Stephen and Anthony play two of their all time favourite games, Mercenary (Novagen 1985) and Encounter (Novagen 1984) both by Paul Woakes, then finish off with a quick game of darts classic 180 (Mastertronic 1986). Along the way they fail to avoid an inevitable crash landing, find a particularly useful piece of cheese, discuss the Mercenary Zzap 64 review and Oliver Frey cover art, take a missile to the face, remember the Not the Nine O’clock News Darts sketch and demonstrate their complete mastery of darts.

Stephen and Anthony Caulfield were 6 and 10 years old when they got their hands on a Commodore 64, thanks to their dad briefly working for Music Sales, a company tasked with producing music software for the machine in the 1980's.

The 'Brothers in Arms' series sees Stephen and Anthony playing a collection of C64 games they (attempted) to play as kids to see if they can do any better as adults.
