Time For Action, M64 16 6 76

A BBC radio investigation into the proposed new M64 motorway between Stoke and Derby in the UK.

The idea of a new motorway was popular with many local residents whose villages had become blighted by heavy traffic flows on local roads that had not changed much since the days of the horse and cart.

Government baulked at the cost but in try Whitehall fashion a compromise solution was built in the form of a semi motorway known now as the A50.

Programme is hosted by Roger Cook and Nick Ross who both went on to have very successful careers in broadcasting.
