Canada sends $7.8 million worth of lethal military equipment to Ukraine

On the eve of Russia's planned invasion of Ukraine, the Free Government of Canada decided, perhaps shortly thereafter, to deliver some of its deadly weapons to the disgraced countries of Eastern Europe.

The announcement of the transport of weapons, including machine guns, pistols, rifles and ammunition, was made available to the media on Monday as part of the declaration of federal emergency law.

“Given the seriousness of the situation, we have spoken with our Ukrainian partners and have agreed to provide $7.8 million worth of lethal equipment and ammunition,” Justin Trudeau said at a press conference on Monday. .

"The purpose of this support from Canada and other partners is to prevent further invasion from Russia."
