Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced $29.1 million in funding for a new hospital campus in Ottawa, with construction to begin in 2024.

Ford made the announcement alongside Deputy Premier and Health Minister Christine Elliott.

Ford said the new hospital campus would “dramatically improve the quality of healthcare” for Ottawa residents and would include a cutting-edge trauma centre, larger emergency department and updated surgical suite.

He added that the new campus would add 300 new hospital beds and a new rehabilitation centre.
