The Lakota Great Spirit Prayer was translated in 1887 by Chief Yellow Lark. This Lakota translation was given to me by Lakota Holy Man, Wallace Black Elk in 2001 in San Diego CA. I met Grandfather Wallace in 1995 at a Native American Elders Gathering in San Diego, for which I was asked to put the Great Spirit Prayer to music. Original Music composed and performed by Elizabeth St.John Ramirez, 1995.
