On May 24, 2019, First Lady Melania Trump was photographed as she departed the White House with President Trump to embark on their historic state visit to Japan.

For the voyage, the first lady wore a whimsical postcard print dress by Calvin Klein made with fine Italian silk. Melania Trump paired the dress with a thin brown leather belt and a pair of Saint Laurent turtle shell sunglasses. For footwear, Mrs. Trump wore a pair of navy blue Christian Louboutin stiletto pumps with a wider heel than the pencil-thin stilettos the first lady is known for.
