Women and girls are entitled to 'an even playing field' in sport

Liberal Senator Claire Chandler says Lia Thomas' win in the US NCAA swimming championships showed "just how unfair it is" to have "biological males completing in women's sport".
"The picture you showed says it all," Ms Chandler told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
"When there are three other women on the podium who should be getting gold, silver and bronze and they're not, they're receiving silver, bronze and they're in fourth place because a biological male has, as you would expect, pipped them to the post in the pool.
She said this doesn't simply apply at the elite levels of sporting competitions.
"This goes right down to the community level - women and girls are entitled to fairness and an even playing field at all levels of sport, not just in professional and elite competition."
