Dallin Oaks Says the LDS Church Brethren Receive Revelation from the Lord like Dust On a Windowsill

At a multistake youth fireside in Bellvue, Washington on January 23, 2016, Dallin H. Oaks states that neither he nor any of the brethren have had a visitation by any heavenly being (whether God, Jesus Christ or angels), but that they obtain their testimony like dust gathering on a windowsill or like the dew on the grass. This flies in the face of their claim to have direct revelation and direction from the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Another case of the total hyprocrisy of these false prophets, seers and revelators.

Question and Oak's Answer:
"My question is what should we pray for to receive this same testimony, if not conversion, that Alma the Younger experienced?"

Oaks: "I almost missed the words Alma the Younger, without which I couldn't understand that very fine question. What should you pray for to have the kind of experience that Alma the Younger had? I don't think you could have that kind of experience that Alma the Younger had. Remember he had a miraculous appearance of an angel and really got hit over the head spiritually. Most us don't have that kind of experience. But I interpret your question, Heather, as being: How can we get the kind of testimony that he recieved? I don't think we'll get it like Paul did, who wrote where an angel appeared to him, or where Alma the Younger had a startling experience. The Lord gives a few of those kinds of experiences and they're recorded in the scriptures to catch our attention. The answer - but I've never had an experience like that. I don't know anyone among the first presidency or the quorum of the twelve who've had that kind of experience. Yet every one of us knows of a certainty the things that Alma knew. But it's just that unless the Lord chooses to do it another way, as he sometimes does, for millions and millions of his children, the testimony settles upon us gradually like so much dust on the windowsill or so much dew on the grass. One day you didn't have it, another day you did, and you don't know which day it happened. That's the way I got my testimony. And then I knew it was true and continued to grow.

Oaks: Casi eché de menos las palabras Alma el Joven, sin las cuales no podría entender esa pregunta tan hermosa. ¿Para qué debes orar para tener el tipo de experiencia que tuvo Alma el Joven hijo? No creo que nadie pueda tener ese tipo de experiencia que tuvo Alma el Joven. Recuerde que tuvo la apariencia milagrosa de un ángel y realmente recibió un golpe espiritual en la cabeza. La mayoría de nosotros no tenemos ese tipo de experiencia. Pero interpreto tu pregunta, Heather, como: ¿Cómo podemos obtener el tipo de testimonio que recibió? No creo que lo consigamos como lo hizo Paul, quien escribió sobre un ángel que se le apareció, o donde Alma el Joven tuvo una experiencia sorprendente. El Señor da algunos de esos tipos de experiencias y están registrados en las escrituras para captar nuestra atención. La respuesta - pero nunca he tenido una experiencia como esa. No conozco a nadie entre la primera presidencia o el quórum de los doce que ha tenido ese tipo de experiencia. Sin embargo, cada uno de nosotros sabe con certeza las cosas que Alma sabía.
