(note: MERCURY is the accumulated density of thoughts in the Mental Body whereas AIR has no density; which is why AIR rules the carefree Mental Body of The FOOL).

Positive Attributes: willpower, desire, being resourceful,, skill, ability, concentration, manifestation, tapping into the MAG (MAGnetism).

Negative Attributes: manipulation, cunning, trickery, wasted talent, illusion, deception, egocentric.

Here it is Key-One, The Path of Beth; Beth is a Hebrew letter meaning "House" or "Temple". The Planet attributed to the Magician/Magus is Mercury, thus the winged heals on the Thoth Deck Magus card.

The Magician is normally numbered ONE. The Magician is usually depicted as a powerful adept, a master of the four elements. He is able to shift events in his favor - to make the World change around him according to his Will.

He is highly skilled, highly powerful and hence a highly dynamic and charismatic figure. He is that part of us which we harness to control our own lives. When we are the Magician we make what we want happen.

However, you can be sure that we receive exactly what we ask for - "be careful what you wish/pray for, you might just get it"! The Magician knows where to throw the pebble into the pool of the Universe in order to get exactly the ripples he wants. If we choose happiness and joy and put our Will behind those, that is what we can achieve.

The Magician is the representation of pure willpower. With the power of the elements and the suits, he takes the potential innate in the fool and molds it into being with the power of desire. He is the connecting force between heaven and earth, for he understands the meaning behind the words "as above so below" - that mind and world are only reflections of one another. Remember that you are powerful, create your inner world, and the outer will follow.

In certain decks, The Magician is one tarot card that is filled with symbolism. The central figure depicts someone with one hand pointed to the sky, while the other hand points to the ground, as if to say "as above, so below". This is a rather complicated phrase, but its summarization is that earth reflects heaven, the outer world reflects within, the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, earth reflects God. It can also be interpreted here that the magician symbolizes the ability to act as a go-between between the world above and the contemporary, human world to lower worlds such as the animal, plant and stone. "Even the invisible".

On his table, the magician also wields all the suits of the tarot. This symbolizes the four elements being connected by this magician - the four elements being earth, water, air, and fire. The infinity sign on his head indicates the infinite possibilities of creation with his will.
