AUTISM, BEHAVIORAL OR NEURODEVELOPMENTAL - #DSM5 , UNFAIR HEARING REGIONAL CENTER, CA

“Autism, is it neurodevelopmental, it is. But the DSM 5, it is a behavioral”. According to Kimberly (Kim) Anne Gaines-Williams, a Psychologist and a decision-maker for autistic clients and in charge of the Autism Department in CA Regional Center in CA, for the past 16 years . She approved Mostly ABA vendors and providers to work with our autistic children.

The DSM 5 is generally Taught in basic psychology classes in universities. Although Kimberly has attained a PhD in psychology, her lack of knowledge and understanding of Autism is beyond appalling and scary, remember she is the decision maker for our children. She grossly misstated that autism is a behavioral disorder when in fact, in the DSM5 is neurodevelopmental. She really wanted Autism to be all about behavioral. when Gary attempted to correct her mistake, Kimberly refused to acknowledge the manual. The OAH “judge also claimed to understand the DSM5 but quickly closed further questioning on the subject, rather than recognize the error of treating a neurological disorder with behavioral methods, #ABAisAbuse.

Gary Presented the DSM 5 to Kim Gaines-Williams and asked her to read from it. She was reluctant to read and said, “which one am I reading?”
Gary to Kim Gaines-Williams: “turn the page where Autism is.”
Gary asked Kim Gaines-Williams : “Is it on the behavioral section or the neurodevelopmental section?”

Kim Gaines-Williams held the DSM 5 but refuse to read from it and persevered on her FALSE belief insisting that Autism is a behavior disorder even though autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder.

Gary told Kim Gaines-Williams: “your statement that autism is a behavioral disorder leads one to believe that it is a behavioral disorder.”
“So, the treatment for a neurodevelopment disorder should be done by behavioral treatment. Is that what you saying?”

Kim Gaines-Williams: “Presently, the research is more educational behavioral, it’s ABA.” She was clearly angry.

2. Educational behavioral ABA is not a treatment or intervention that exist
3. but kudus to her for her confidence and blatant lie.
4. Do you know why? Because no matter what she said, it would never “hurt” her when it comes to a sold out OAH UnFair Hearing. The outcome was Pre-Determined but they had to pretend to go through the “motion”

A Kangaroo court is a Mock Court where the outcome is Pre-Determined Conclusion. They have their own (that they own) “Judges”, (They pay their own judges from our taxpayers money) who pretend to be unbiased, pretend to listen and just to go through the “Motions”.

1. NEVER EVER believe anything you’re READ from any of OAH “Judge” Hearing decisions. You think it’s a real court with real judges but you don’t know that it is NOT.
2. OAH, They only provide the public with the written “decision” of the OAH “Judge” so you will miss all the important details and the TRUTH of what really happened.
3. OAH, the outcome is always Pre-Determined decision and Conclusion
4. Regional Center is in bed with OAH
Like most people at the Regional Center, Kimberly has no qualification to be deemed as an “autism expert” and her role as coordinator of autism services and clinical practitioner is extremely troubling. She has not demonstrated an interest in the well-being and future of children with autism, as evident by her incorrect assumptions regarding the diagnosis of autism, her inability to remain current with peer-reviewed research, and her inability to understand the consequences of her interventions on children with autism.

Kimberly could not even answer basic questions during questioning, lacking the intelligence and ability to support the practice of ABA. She contradicts her own statements, every time.

After the UnFair hearing at the Regional Center against ABA and OAH “Judge”, Regional Center retaliated against our family using many dirty tactics while using our tax payers money to abuse their power. Absolute Power corrupt absolutely.

I cannot help but feel disgusted and appalled at how the members of the court cooperated to betray the convicting truth presented in court in order to continue the outdated and abusive practice that is ABA. Whether it was the "judge" who made the decision despite testimonies and evidence against ABA, the disrespectful and apathetic attorney, or the psychologist who is so disconnected from her clients, she has no understanding of their diagnosis or ability… they are responsible for all the lives that they Should have helped and caused harm just for $$$$ and Power over innocent children and their families.
