Hannah the Model Mother: Right Priorities and Purpose

This sermon was preached by Pastor Sam Adams on 5/12/13 at Independence Baptist Church in Belleview, Florida.

Of all the examples in scripture of great mothers, Hannah, the mother of the Old Testament prophet Samuel, outshines them all. This message explains why that is so:

Hannah had the right priorities - she understood the value of children, and also knew the value and high honor that exists in being a mother. She knew that children are a blessing from God, not a burden.
Hannah had the right kind of persistence in prayer. She had the faith to pray & ask, and to BELIEVE that God could change things for her, to answer even the silent prayer of her aching heart.
Hannah had the right Perspective and Purpose for her child - to be separated and consecrated as holy unto the Lord. There is no greater joy for a Christian mom or dad than to raise a child for Jesus Christ.
Hannah was the right kind of Promise-keeper. First she made the right kind of promise; then she persevered and followed through to bring her promise to pass, even when keeping the promise was very costly.
Hannah was the right kind of Prophetess; because of her faithfulness she was given a great prophetic revelation of the coming King - the Lord Jesus.
Hannah had a deep, abiding, faith-filled knowledge of and relationship with the God of Israel. Because of Hannah’s perseverance, her sorrow was turned to gladness.
