Light In The Darkness: When You Don't Know Why

This sermon was preached by Pastor Sam Adams on 4/12/13 at Independence Baptist Church in Belleview, Florida. As Christians, born again children of God, we are those whom the Bible says have been called out of darkness into the Lord’s marvelous light. However, even as Christians we all still experience times of darkness in our lives when we go through periods of trial or testing that we don’t understand.

Sometimes that darkness is self-imposed; it may even be that God Himself has sent a time of darkness to bring us to repentance for rejecting and disobeying His word.

Many times however, the darkness we experience may not be deserved, but is just as ordained of God, with a purpose to develop our faith and make us stronger. This message discusses the following principles we need to remember when going through such times:
1. Remember that sometimes those of the greatest devotion may know the deepest darkness.
2. Remember that God has a purpose in the darkness.
3. Remember that some things are revealed in the dark that cannot be seen in the light.
4. Remember that the Lord Himself is the only light we need.
5. Remember that you can be a light in someone else's darkness.
