Why I'm Breaking Away From Mental Health

My whole outlook on life has changed. I've had some experiences over the last couple of years that have made it impossible for me to even pretend to be interested in completing my documentary.

We need something totally different. We need to get back to individual sovereignty and connecting with community. We need to deal with the challenges in our own lives in a way that makes sense to us instead of dumbing and numbing ourselves with medications, therapies and programs which barely scratch the surface.

I've been tiptoeing around trying to please everybody. The mental health system is trying to cater to everybody. It's trying to have an overarching model that makes sense of the human condition but the human condition is too complex for that. Even if you could figure it all out, culture and society is evolving and changing all the time and with it the individuals within it. We are never going to stay the same.
