On Monday 21 MAR 22, on the 89th EPISODE, of New Paradigms with Sargis Sangari, Michael Pregent, a senior fellow at Hudson Institute and the foremost expert on #Iran in the United States, joined me to discuss the Diminishing Effects of the U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East and the Iran footprint in the Region.

Michael began our discussion by stating that our adversaries recognize the #Biden administration foreign policy team as the same #Obama foreign policy team they took advantage of from 2008 -2016.

Michael pointed out that the Biden foreign policy team is the same team that brought us Obama's Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (#JCOPA) with Iran. The same foreign policy team brought #Putin and Qasem #Soleimani into #Syria, fracturing Syria and further fracturing #Iraq when #ISIS moved into Iraq. The same foreign policy team that started a war between #SaudiArabia and #Yemen when they supported a #proxy, the #Houthis, giving them lethal aid and missiles that punished our #Allies and by design gave #Israel another front to consider.

Hence, The same foreign policy team that did the aforementioned is now back and promoted to take on more worthy #advisories.

Michael laid out the case that Putin went into #Ukraine because he was waiting for this administration. Unfortunately, our adversaries believe they have two and a half years to get all they can on the world stage before the current administration possibly departs.

Mike pointed out that Putin believes that there are no #redlines in Ukraine and does not understand why Secretary of Defense (#SECDEF) #LloydAustin and the Biden administration are surprised at the level of brutality and destruction in Ukraine, given Putin conducted this in Syria when General Austin was at #CENTCOM, with President Biden being the Vice President. The same foreign policy team that allowed Putin to do this in Syria that watched Putin and #Turkey fracture Syria and then moved into #Libya is now trying to counter Putin in Ukraine.

Michael discussed the issues associated with the Iraqi #Parliment and elections and the future of possible wars in the Region.

Finally, Michael offered a new perspective to the decision-makers on how to approach these difficult and multi-level issues to achieve the best outcome for U.S. #ForeignPolicy.
