Walking Tour: Samobor, Croatia - 4K UHD

Samobor is a very popular little town in Zagreb County, Croatia. It is known for its charming baroque center, beautiful surroundings which provide outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and cycling as well as many fun traditional and cultural events. The most well-known is Samoborski fašnik (Samobor Carnival) - a traditional festival held in February with the aim of chasing away evil spirits from the past year, bidding goodbye to winter and greeting the upcoming spring. Ever since 1855 Samobor has been the carnival center of this part of Croatia. Samobor was also one of the earliest tourist resorts in the region, with the first tourist facilities dating back to 1810. The town's beautiful surroundings and close proximity to the capital city of Zagreb and Croatian - Slovenian border have enabled this tourist tradition to survive to the present day. As Samobor lies only 20 km from Zagreb it is Zagreb's most popular excursion destination and many Zagrabians have a particularly soft spot for Samobor.
