Nixie the mermaid

I haven’t quite decided. Nixie is a rare mutant kind of mermaid, meaning she could take a human form when she was between the ages of 2 and 4. (Something merfolk usually take centuries to master!) As Nix is a mutant, many other merfolk in her city hated her, or; distanced themselves from her for seemingly just existing. As of right now, I don’t have any ideas on her father. So I don’t have any info brief or otherwise on him. Nixes mother, Cordelia, is one of the elder merfolk, as she is one of the longest still living mermaids. Nix is still quite young for a mermaid, as her mom is 5,000 years old. Nix is a tough young lady, being able to defend herself without use of her powers. Nix is a hydro kinetic, who also has the ability to control light. She mainly uses these abilities to create and defend against weapons. Finally, Nixie is one of the few merfolk who predominately lives on land. This has to do with the fact that Nix chose to explore the surface world due to her interest in humans.
