Reading Brick Show 2022: SilentMode's SKIPPED Display

SilentMode introduces his display at the Reading Brick Show 2022, which for some reason those other YouTubers collectively decided to ignore.

The PROCESS

SilentMode's display took up just one table at the Reading Brick Show, but there was plenty to see.

0:15 MODE Kart
The development of a custom electric go-kart design led to the first-ever MODE Kart tournament: a series of races between SilentMode Family members and their friends.
The kart was designed without using a dedicated vehicle base and are customised with different colours.
MODE Kart was influenced by the original Super Mario Kart and other driving games from my generation.
The bespoke “driver blocks” were inspired by the Rama figures from LO Racers 2, and were 3D printed using a resin printer.

1:40 Living Room vignette
A bonus Creation was added at the last minute, inspired by LO 76200 Avengers Endgame Bro Thor's New Asgard.

This vignette ties into the MODE Kart theme by depicting a modern-day family playing the "game" on a home console.

1:50 3D printed fish and MODE Sculpture
Inspired by seeing others with large 3D printed versions of LO parts at other events: the fish was printed at 1000% the size of a standard LO fish. Also featuring among the 3D printed items were a 500% suitcase, and a brand new MODE sculpture (designed by me).

2:07 3D printed MODE Kart
This was printed at 300% the size of a standard kart. It was sanded and painted to make it look pretty, and interestingly a number of visitors thought it was made of wood!
