Despite high burnout rates and a long history of health-care shortages, B.C. has thousands of frontline health-care workers ordered to stay home instead of saving lives due to provincial vaccine mandates.
Many provinces are well on their way to lifting many of their COVID restrictions. The province of Alberta has already eliminated vaccine mandates for health-care workers and has even reached out to former employees to ask them to return.
B.C. has not. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry is keeping thousands of people at home instead. And she has recently tried to double down on the mandates by extending them to ALL regulated health-care workers before quickly backtracking and modifying the order.
Why are we making it harder for medical professionals to work in our province when we see story after story of shortages in B.C. hospitals?
One federal Conservative, Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows MP Marc Dalton, has seen enough.
Dalton was one of the first (and still one of the only) federal politicians to speak out against the government’s COVID narrative. He recently challenged B.C.'s vaccine mandates by reaching out directly to Premier John Horgan.
