The new 30 Super Carry from Federal is an interesting cartridge because of its heritage. It's a .312 diameter bullet, the same as .32 ACP but it's in a longer case and operates at higher pressures. Think of the 30 Super Carry as a .32 Magnum for the autoloading pistol. The 30 Super Carry has more than a passing resemblance to the WWI era 7.65 cartridge developed for the Pedersen Device. We discuss that in the video.

I know many of you don't read the descriptions, but I am just ribbing Federal about copying the 7.65 Longue. While they share similar dimensions they're not the same cartridge. The 30 Super Carry operates at incredibly high pressures (45,000psi) which is higher than 9mm or even .357 Magnum. It's an innovative design that I hope catches on.
