The Florida legislature passed bill 1557, which news outlets have framed as the so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill, since it would restrict schools from discussing gender identity or preference with kids from kindergarten through third grade. Yet, according to Dave Rubin, host of The Rubin Report, the "Don't Say Gay" label is a serious misrepresentation of the bill, which goes far beyond just the gender discussions, and is primarily about transparency and parental rights over children.
