Making Singapore spring rolls using HANDMADE POPIAH SKINS!

I asked popiah skin maker Michael Ker, to show me how to make popiah using handmade popiah skins and I made a cute video out of it!
The art of hand making popiah skins is a dying food art form in Singapore.

Ker is a third-generation handmade popiah maker from Kway Guan Huat Joo Chiat Original Popiah & Kueh Pie Tee (thin and crispy tart shell filled with a stew of thinly sliced vegetables and prawns) and they have been in business since 1938!

Ker was at Fullerton Hotel’s Town Restaurant with his team churning out popiah and kueh pie tee using handmade popiah skins and freshly fried kueh pie tee shells from 8 to 18 March 2017.

Ingredients in order if appearance: popiah skin, chilli sauce, sweet flour sauce, shredded lettuce, bean sprouts, chopped peanuts, fried garlic, boiled prawns, turnip filling
